Q: What is glycerin soap?

A: Glycerin is a humectant. This means that it draws moisture to the skin and helps retain it. Most commercially-produced soaps have the glycerin removed during the process and sell it separately or put it into other products.

Q. Many of your products contain Shea Butter. What is Shea Butter?

A. Shea butter is an extract of the nut of the Shea (Karite) Tree found in Africa.

Q. What are the benefits of Shea Butter?

A. Shea Butter is rich in Vitamins A, E and F. These vitamins, in combination are highly effective in cell regeneration and anti-aging, and are particularly helpful to sun-damaged skin. Due to its unique combination of oils and fatty acids, it has been used traditionally to treat dry and cracked skin, small skin wounds, stretch marks, insect bits and a variety of skin conditions.

Q. What do Bath Salts do for me?

A. The rich combination of salts in our bath salts, will soften the water, draw impurities from the skin and ease tired muscles. Additionally, it is relaxing to luxuriate in steaming fragrance-filled tub.

Q. What is your Lotion-in-a-Stick?

A. The Lotion-in-a-Stick is a rich combination of skin loving Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Mango Butter and Jojoba Oil, made into a solid form with the addition of beeswax. It melts on contact with your skin, and is wonderful to keep in purse or pocket, or at your desk. It is great for application to dry elbows and heels.

Q. What are the advantages of your Lip Balm?

A. Our Lip Balm is made from the same wonderful butters and oils as our Lotion-in-a-Stick. It contains NO petroleum products, which are frequently found in commercial lip balms, and is actually healing to dry lips as well as protecting.

Q. How do Milk Baths work to soften skin?

A. The lactic acid in milk gently sloughs away dead skin cells, while the fat content softens the new skin. Our milk baths also contain mineral-rich sea salt and other skin nourishing ingredients.

Q. Can you make up a gift basket of things I choose?

A. Yes, we make up a large variety of gift baskets. We can put together an assortment based on a fragrance at a price range of your choosing, or if you prefer, you can choose the products you would like in the basket. If your products are valued at $25 or more, there is no extra cost for this service. A moderate, $2.00 would be charged for gift assortments under $25.

Q. I would like to give unique favors to celebrate a special event. What items, choices and prices do you offer?

A. We have made up favors for a wide range of events, from 50th birthdays, to showers, communions and weddings. There are a number of soaps shown on our Special Order pages that are terrific made up with your favorite colors and scents. Additionally, small organza bags can be made up with small soaps and lotions to give your guests. Sachets make a lovely statement and note the picture on our favors/baskets page which shows how a photo can be put on the soap. Price discounts from retail are based on the number of articles ordered. We will be happy to work with you, to make your event outstanding.

Q. What is Fragrance Layering?

A. Fragrance layering is using products in the same fragrance to enhance the scent. Our soaps are wonderfully scented, but a good soap will rinse clean, leaving only a faint scent on the skin, with its moisturizing properties. Soaking in scented salts will leave a gentle aroma on your skin. Spraying with body mist after bath or shower will add a light scent, which would be increased with a moisturizing lotion. Topping off with our Dry Oil Cologne will give you the fullest effect.
